What Do You Call a Writer That Doesn’t Write

Hiatus? mysterious disappearance? Whatever you want to call it, it’s over. The drought has ended, commencing the metaphorical rain. I’M BACK! I wish I had a good excuse…but I don’t. In truth, I came down with a heavy case of writer’s block (and I’m lazy). That’s all in the past, though. I’m here again to overpromise and underdeliver. We’re back to the (Ir)regularly scheduled programming.
In my time away, I’ve been thinking about the future of this Substack (I’ll never let it die!). There has been brainstorming of possible series I could start to develop more consistency. I also thought of putting out recommendations, but that’s been done before, and I fear it’ll devolve into mindless lists. I’ve also been interested in narrowing down the focus of the Substack in hopes of making it easier to write about. Fashion is seemingly an inescapable obsession for me, and it may very well take hold of the whole operation one day. That could be the direction this page goes, but I’ve decided I’ll let It happen organically, if anything. My writing and this page are very much in their infancy, and I’ve realized the most important part is that I just put something out.
No matter the evolution this newsletter may take, it’ll always be fueled by my micro-obsessions. Unhealthy hyper-fixations on niche subjects and characters are the beating heart of GodsProtagonist.
